After a nice wet Christmas period, Eli and I came back home and happily got stuck into harvesting some of our garden vegies. We'd been enjoying lettuce since November, but hadn't sampled the carrots. Eli was pretty excited about pulling them out of the ground and seeing how big they were... and I needed to remain vigilant to ensure that he didn't pull up the whole vegie patch in one go.
Eli also couldn't wait to get stuck into the produce, so I washed off some carrots out in the garden and he tucked in...
This has become a bit of a routine for us now - whenever we're out in the backyard (usually between cricket or soccer hit outs), we'll dig out a couple of carrots, wash them off and eat them right then and there. Eli's pretty happy with this scenario, but only if he gets to eat the biggest carrot we pull up...
